"Le Sabot" is a privately owned chalet completely refurbished during summer 2000. It is well positioned, situated in the beautiful Vallee de La Manche, 2 kilometres from the centre of Morzine.There is a stream at the bottom of the garden and a small lake (Lac Min D'Or) at the top of the valley.

The Ground Floor

Bedroom

 The main entrance / boot room, with WC, washing machine and dryer. Two bedrooms, one being a double with an ensuite and full size bath. The other bedroom on this floor has 2 single beds, a set of bunkbeds and an ensuite bathroom with a full size bath.  Outside is a large deck with Barbecue, large table/chairs, sunbeds.

The Middle Floor

Fireplace
 

Overlooking the valley with stunning views of the mountains, this floor is completely given over to a spacious living area 45m2 with 2 large corner sofas, sofa bed, additional seating and floor cushions. A TV/VIDEO with a selection of films suitable for all ages, dvd player and filmes, a playstation with a variety of games, CD radio cassette, board games and of course, an open log fire made from stones taken from the river, make for a relaxing evening at the end of an exhilarating day.

Balcony

A special feature of this room are the French Windows leading onto a 8 x 2 metre balcony overlooking a stream and with spectacular views of the mountains.  On the balcony is a table and 10 chairs, a fine spot for lunch or tea or sunbathing.

The dining area seats 12 around a large pine table. Next to this is a separate, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, gas hob, electric fan oven and a large American fridge/freezer with ice dispenser

The Top Floor

This comprises of two bedrooms and bathrooms, one a double room with its own balcony and views of the mountains, with further single sofa bed and an ensuite with full size bath.  The other room has twin beds and an ensuite with a full size bath

Morzine Avoriaz

Morzine is a lively, traditional mountain town in the heart of the Portes du Soleil. 
It is a town in its own right and not just during the tourist season. It has a broad range of shops, restaurants, bars and 4 nightclubs.  You can have an action packed holiday, mountain biking, canyoning, white water rafting, swimming, paragliding or just relax and enjoy the mountains.  During the Summer Months the cable cars are open to transport you and your bikes to the top of the mountains.

The chalet is well positioned for all of the pleasures of an alpine holiday.  The water fall pictured left is 800m from the chalet.  Lac Min D'Or, pictured above and below is an ideal starting point for mountain walks.  The lake is also good for fishing and has a restaurant (only open in high season).  The town of Morzine, 2km from the chalet, has a large outdoor swimming pool, 16 tennis courts and an indoor ice skating rink.  There is a good selection of bars and restaurants 

The chalet is a good base if you wish to wander further a field.  Montriond is a 10 minute drive and has a wonderful lake, with swimming area (suitable for children, with lifeguards,) canoeing, archery & horse riding.  Lake Geneva, (Lac Leman), is a 30 minute drive.  On the lake is Thonan Les Bains which has an amazing swimming area on the lake with swimming pools, water slides and restaurants.  Next to Thonon is the famous spa town of Evian, very stylish with a casino!  There is a golf course in Les Gets which is a 10 minute drive from the chalet, white water rafting in the river Dranse, a 20 minute drive and the canyoning finishes 800m from the chalet at the waterfull pictured above.  All activities can be booked from the tourist office in Morzine.

 


Getting There


You may wish to take your own car and if so, Morzine is an approximate 8 hour drive from Calais, although, 
we have found that flying with Easyjet and hiring an ordinary family car from Geneva airport can be just as cheap, and as Morzine is only a one and a quarter hour drive this can be a hassle free way of beginning your holiday. 2008 Summer Prices

The Chalet has a Sunday changeover. Prices are for the whole chalet, accommodation only and includes bed linen, towels and logs for the fire. We are also currently rennovating another chalet which will be ready for this season. If you have are looking for dates marked as booked below, please visit Chalet Emilie. Alternatively, please still contact us if you require other accommodation as we may be able to find other accommodation for you.
